Brian Matthew Isoa Shima (born December 22, 1981) is a former professional inline skater. Considered one of the greatest in the sport, he also holds the record for the most pro skates held by any person (you can check some of those here).
He skated professionally for aggressive skating brands USD (Universal Skate Design, or Upside Down) & Razors Skates and was, along with Jon Elliott, a former pro skater, co-owner and team rider of Ground Control frames, Nimh Skates, 4x4 Wheels, Vicious Bearings, King Crow bearings and Shima Skate Manufacturing (SSM). Along with Jon Elliott and Jan Welch, Shima started a distribution company called Rat Tail in 2002.
Shima owned his own skate brand, named Shima Skate Manufacturing, also known as SSM, which was launched after he left his former company Nimh. He is also co-founder of the World Rolling Series (WRS).

Photos of the Nimh, Shima V1 Pro Skates. Thanks Sb3000.
Nimh is a high end boot hand designed by Brian Shima, and manufactured with precision and detail. This skate is made to perform at a professional level.
Free Groove System
The Nimh soul plate is designed to adapt to your personal skating style. Most skate companies lock you into a pre-set groove. Nimh does not. We advise skating a mildly waxed ledge for 1-3 hours to create your own custom groove.
Unconstrained Toe System
All Nimh skates come with a standard boot skeleton minus the excess of toe material found in most other brands. This allows for more breathing room and eliminates toe pain while skating.
Nimh is 100% skater owned and operated. This company was created by skaters for skaters and will be run accordingly. It’s time you choose your side! - Brian Shima & Jon Elliott.

Here is a first look at the Vicious liner that will come in the Nimh Shima skate. The Shima boot only is the maiden skate from the Nimh brand that Jon Elliott and Brian Shima have recently founded. I was down in San Diego visiting Jon and Brian last night, and I was able to take a quick pic with my cellphone. - Matt Mickey.

Quoting Doug Urquhart:
I have been shooting for Black Market II : Barely Dead for a little over a month so far. This new flick is a documentary about the history of skating. Featuring interviews with Arlo Eisenberg, Mike Opalek, Jess Dyrenforth, Jon Elliott, Brian Shima, Chris Haffey, Shane Coburn + more!
All the skating content is shot on super 16mm motion picture film. Below are a few still frames from my recent California trip. These are freeze frames from the film transfer to HDCAM 1920×1080 10-bit uncompressed files… I have cut the file size to 50% of those dimensions so that they will be visable on your monitors.
Just remember… still frames don’t do much justice for how smooth & organic the film looks in motion! Also, all these shots were filmed at 48fps… so they are all true slow-motion… - Doug Urquhart.
Get ready for a full-blown trailer being released during Super Hick 2006 (first weekend of May).
