After a 10ish year hiatus BCSD is back for one more time. Everyone skated incredible and sorry to the homies who I missed your clips cause its very hard to capture truly everything but I do my best to make it quality filming and zoom and editing. I am happy with how this turned out because I worked hard and fought a lot to be able to make it so I could document these athletes. If you made it this far I am appreciative and hope you like it. Prelims: 10:00 minutes per heat – 20-30 total competitors advance to Semi-finals. Each heat begins after a competitor lineup to help judges identify participants. Champions Session: Any past champion can advance directly to Semi-finals. Semi-finals: 2x 15:00 minute heats – 10-15 total competitors advance to Finals. Bitter Cold Showdown BCSD) is a rollerblading contest and industry trade show. It started in Indiana in 2001, moved to Ohio and then eventually found its home at Modern Skate Park in Royal Oak, Michigan in 2009. The last event was held on February 23, 2013.

Although the event is inclusive across all ages, genders, skill levels, styles & disciplines, the contest is for advanced rollerblading competitors only. Extensive competition experience is absolutely required. Unlike past events, the contest will NOT be open to all competitors. There will only be 1 advanced rollerblading contest. After covering over 3000 miles in under a week from Austin, TX to Detroit, MI and back again, the journey is over. This is a small collection of pictures from our trip to the north east. This was by far the most wild, drama filled, trouble laden blade trip I have ever taken.
Tk was caught shoplifting $1.00 gloves, almost going to jail, we opted to pay the store 50 dollars to let him go. Later he destroyed the hotel ceiling tiles, almost going to jail again. We lit fireworks in the skate park, sneaked in gallons of liquor to BCSD, everyone lost all their money, a purse, their id’s, our own car and eventually our sanity when we discovered we were stranded and homeless in Chicago after a blurry weekend full of fast times.
Every photo in this set was taken in between all this calamity and more. Hope you dig. :)
