USD are proud to annouce that the Mery Muñoz Aeon will be one of the first 2021 pro skates to feature in our new higher royalties scheme. On all future releases USD pro team riders will now receive a drastically increased royalty per pro skate sold, alongside their usual monthly incentives schemes. The dedication and support of our professional athletes is completely invaluable to us as a brand and we’re taking all the steps we can to support them to the best of our abilities.

To make such a substantial increase on the royalties, we have had to increase the final retail price of our pro model skates alongside also increasing the prices to compensate for the increased strains that Covid has added to us as a brand including the significant price increases we have faced on both production and shipment as a result of the pandemic.

USD is proud to reveal the Aeon Crofts II, the first full skinned USD Aeon.

Sam Crofts second pro Aeon features the same classic Aeon unibody construction but with a full premium real suede upper and comes as standard with the highly anticipated second generation Aeon cuff. The new suede skin is double stitched along its’ contours and extra reinforced with a dense overstitch and rivets at the high stress points.

The skate also features Sam’s pro Myfitliner Second Skin liner, waxed hockey style laces, an upgraded thicker shock absorber, high speed UHR (Ultra High Rebound) wheels and Abec 7 Wicked Bearings. A full upgrade and revamp of the modern classic of aggressive street skating.

“For my latest pro skate from USD I’ve chosen another Aeon 60. The Aeon skate series is a project that I’ve been involved with since the start and is a product I’ve come to identify my skating within, making it the obvious choice again for my new pro model. This time I worked with the design team to create a skinned version to soften the overall look of the skate and give it a more classic sneaker aesthetic. We also developed a new taller height-adjustable cuff to give you a slight increase in flex for topsides but also offers more support and allows for more comfortable and longer skating sessions. I removed the 45-degree strap as I think waxed laced alone provides a sufficient heel lock. The skate comes with 61mm USD Team wheels, Wicked ABEC 9 bearings, and lastly to complete the skate I chose my favorite liner, the MyFit 2nd skin. The new Aeon 72 XXI is arriving at the shops and available world wide.

The Aeon 72 XXI skate is the modern classic of aggressive street skating. USD took it right back to the drawing board with the design of this skate, shattering all expectations and dismissing the UFS frame system, completely reworking our understanding of an aggressive skate and bringing the design back to basics.

The unibody concept defines this unique design, creating the lowest, lightest skate possible with unparalleled energy transfer in every stride. One step back, two steps forward. With a single-piece construction, the weight is drastically reduced whilst the strength of the boot is immensely increased, you’ll never snap another frame again. The unibody concept allows for the widest H-block split possible, making this the best flat set up skate ever created, keeping you safe from wheel bite on all H-block tricks.

The Aeon 72 allows you to ride a full flat set up of 72mm wheels and comes with the new USD Team wheels, which are fast and long-lasting. The skate is completed with the dual-fit MYFIT liners. The stretchy neoprene toes allow for 2 sizes to be catered to with a single liner, giving perfect comfort and support in every session. The new WCD ABEC 9 bearings make this skate now even faster and the new soft top for the lacing even better looking.

When USD decides to design a new skate, you can be sure it will be a game changer. Once the decision to create a new aggressive inline skate had been made, we had to be sure that it would stand out from the crowd. We decided to break the rules that have been abided by for the past 14 years, and think outside the box – why does a skate need so much hardware? Is UFS really the best solution?

For USD, the Aeon would be about performance, the key word in the creative project. We designed an affordable, high performance skate that combines the boot and soulplate (unibody), minimizing hardware and moving you closer to the ground, enabling perfect control while at the same time maximizing the possibilities of larger wheel use with all the benefits of this new, low center of gravity.

You heard right. This skate is not UFS Compatible. Are we crazy? Consider this: UFS was invented as a standard mounting system many years ago and is optimized for a maximum wheel size of 60mm. But since its creation, larger wheels such as 72mm have become popular again, a wheel size that reminds us of the popularity of OG blading roots, allowing better roll while enabling great control and space to grind.

We are proud to announce that with our new unibody design our boot is actually lower with 61mm wheels than many other skates that use 58 or 55mm wheels. Remember when USD made the first ever carbon skate for aggressive skaters? We took a risk, and revolutionized the skate industry, and now we’re doing it again. The USD Aeon has been designed from scratch to be affordable while being perfect right out of the box. If you’re worried about not being able to change the frames, complete unibody shells including soulplate and frames will of course be available straight away.

The USD Aeon Skate is therefore a one piece, lightweight and comfortable skate with the lowest profile ever made, allowing for a whole new level of advance performance for street skaters worldwide.
