USD Team @ Abriss, Berlin (Germany) 2022. Eugen Enin, Michael Witzemann and Sven Ischen were at the Abriss Berlin 2022! As this years street jam didn’t follow the concept of a classic competition, there wasn’t a podium or prize money to win. The boys still had fun and managed to lace some cool tricks! Concept of the contest: This year, the Saturday street jam at Abriss did not follow the concept of a classic competition. You know the deal: 3-4 spots and a glorious winner at the end of the day. We want to do things differently: no podium and no prize money to win at Abriss 7 but a lot of awards given out during the week, instead.
We do this, because we want to create an event, that is oriented towards participating, rather than sitting down to watch others skate. We do this, because after a 2-year-break, we didn’t feel like continuing as if nothing ever happened – or keeps on happening and because it’s a hustle to raise prize money. This is an experiment, and we can’t fin wait to reunite and see how it turns out.! […]
The whole promo was filmed in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, which is Eugen Enin’s home country. Eugen and Daniel decided to upload this archive of the filming process, not only to show the work behind the promo but also to raise awareness about the on going war in Ukraine. “It’s heartbreaking for us to see our family and friends suffer during these harsh times. “There are many ways to describe this video but I feel like Circus fits the best. It’s not only my first bigger project since my ankle operation, it also continuous the creative adventure I started in shadow chronicles. Endless inspirations flowed into this project and it might look chaotic on the first view but there is an ongoing almost playful vibe to it even though the bigger spots might distract from it.
My goal was to show a big variety of all kinds of blading, from oldschool spots and tricks to newschool progressive movements. Though the surprising moves have a really special place in my heart as they are like the essence of what I like about blading the most. Creative freedom of movement. This Skate comes with several key updates to the previous models, creating a new take on this classic design, perfect for a modern pro like Eugen Enin. “To update the timeless Xsjado design for my USD Shadow pro skate we added riveted velcro on the cuff and liner which when combined with the re-released heel shock absorbers creates a perfectly ergonomic foot position whilst eliminating heel lift. The walkable eclipse liner features the new super comfy PU casted tongue and a very durable and stretchable ripstop black mesh as the upper material.
This latest model designed for my pro skate has got a new reshaped ankle flap which connects to the toe strap, creating a tighter and more stable fit. We included some additional flex line stitching to ensure flexibility for that area and my name is printed from top to bottom on it. The top strap is made out of a polyester ‘seat belt’ webbing which is super durable and has EE.2 embossed on it. I chose the Shadow 1.0 cuff because I prefer it’s stability. The skate comes with some Fluid 5 Frames and a full flat set up of 60mm 88a USD UHR (Ultra High Rebound) Wheels. So all in all some major updates to the previous USD Shadow models.
Riding on Shadows is actually like coming full circle in my skating career since Xsjado was such a huge part of my Childhood. They were the first skate I started to skate Street in, doing my first handrail, learning all the tech-dance switch-ups that I’m now known for - it all started with Xsjado skates. And now I can use them from a totally different perspective and do moves I would have never imagined back then. It feels nostalgic and refreshing at the same time to be back on my USD Shadows.” - Eugen Enin.

The Undercover 60mm full radius is my weapon of choice, which works perfectly for me in 90a. It’s the ideal hardness and shape for my Street setup. The wheels are fast and maneuverable and the deep black Urethane with the Naruto Rin’negan Graphics give it a gloomy and mystic vibe which I really enjoy. - Eugen Enin.
